My ideal roommate

Liberal, honest skeptic, independent, with a sense of humor.  Likes a clean, orderly environment and pays attention to surroundings.  Is personally attractive, healthy, focused, communicates, and pays the rent on time.

Rent: $1000

Utilities: $75

Utilities include heat, electric, internet, phone, monitored security. Cable TV is available but at an additional cost... high electrical usage could raise the utility cost.

About me 

I have a house in New Hampshire, and also this apartment. My business is woodworking, but I come to that from art (painting and sculpture). I also play guitar  (blues, jazz) and write. I teach (graduate level) at the BAC and have many customers in the Boston area. I enjoy conversation, languages, and people and I like to have them around, but I also need lots of quiet time to focus on my own interests. 

Until this year a lot of my attention went into taking care of my father.  Because of that he was able to die at home. Now I find myself by myself, and in many ways, starting again. Business is down and rental income is a big help.  While I could rent this apartment outright for a lot more, I would prefer to have the use of it, and so far, I’ve found that sharing can work well with the right person.  When there are problems, I have learned that a little tolerance and some thoughtful communication can go a long way.
